BACKGROUND CLEARANCE
This website will prompt you to complete your personal information, find a fingerprinting location near you, make an appointment, and watch a video to learn how to prepare for the fingerprinting session to minimize rejection. Following completion of the live scan appointment, the results of the background check originating from this will be sent to the Illinois DCFS after the fingerprints have been processed by the state.

The benefit of creating an account is after you have completed the Fingerprinting, you will be able to track your transaction progress in the Transaction History section.
The Illinois Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) requires fingerprint-based background checks for individuals involved in the care and welfare of children, including:
Fees will vary depending on the type of background check required. Proceed to process the transaction and the fee will be presented to you on the payment page.
Your fingerprints will be submitted electronically to the Illinois State Police and FBI. Processing times vary, but most background checks are completed within a few business days.
Your transaction should be submitted within 24 hours from the time of your fingerprinting session. Click on the Transaction History link to view the latest Status. If the transaction Status shows "Completed", it means your Live Scan transaction has been successfully submitted.
If your transaction does not reflect a "Completed" status after 24 hours from the time of your fingerprinting session, please email us at support@applicantservices.com. Please include your name, date of the transaction, and the Payment ID in your email inquiry.
Approximately 2% of applicants will be rejected due to poor fingerprint image quality. If you received a rejection notification, please follow the steps below:
